Prestige in Null’s Brawl: what will happen to the trophy system after the update

So, the mechanics for Sirius and Najia are fully implemented. New gadgets and Buffies have been added. At first glance, it seems like we could finally release the update.

But there’s one more important thing — the Prestige system 💛

We spent some time thinking about how it should work on the server and came to the following decision.

The first and main question: will our trophy system be completely redesigned?

No, at least not for now. At this stage we don’t plan to introduce such radical changes. The main reason is that we don’t want to drastically change a system players are used to, and especially not devalue the achievements of those who have been playing on the server for a long time.

Will Prestige be added?

Yes, the Prestige system will be added. Just like in Brawl Stars, +1 Prestige will be given for every 1000 trophies. For us, however, this is primarily a visual change.

For example, if you currently have 12,345 trophies on a Brawler, after the update it will be displayed as 12 Prestige and 345 trophies. At the same time, the total number of trophies on your account will not change.

Why exactly 1000 trophies per Prestige, and not, for example, 10,000?
We considered different options, but in the Brawl Stars code the value “1000 trophies = 1 Prestige” is quite firmly embedded in many places. We try to interfere with the game code as little as possible, because such patches would have to be updated again with every new client version.

A few more important details related to the trophy system in this update:

  1. To avoid making an already simple progression system even easier, starting from the eighth Prestige (8000+ total trophies) Prestige will no longer protect your trophies. If you lose matches, you will be able to drop down to the seventh Prestige.
  2. In the leaderboards, trophies will still be displayed in the old format, just like before.
  3. There will be no hidden MMR system on the server.

Going forward, we will continue to think about how to make the Null’s Brawl trophy system more flexible and better compatible with the new Prestige system.
