Null’s Brawl Update with Lumi and Finx (v.60.420)

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve already started examining the new update and adapting our server to the latest version featuring Lumi and Finx.

This time, the update is truly exciting, as a new combat mechanic has been introduced along with a new Brawler. Working on such updates is much more engaging than when a standard fighter with no unique combat mechanics is released. Lumi has really impressed us: we’ll need to put in a great deal of effort to properly implement her combat logic. At the moment, we can’t say for sure how quickly we’ll be able to adapt the private server, but rest assured — we’re already on it.

Null’s Brawl with Lumi and Finx

The update turned out to be massive, and not only because of Finx. The game has received new skins from SC Make as well as a unique collaboration with UNO. All of this content will be available in the next update, along with the new March Brawl Pass season, “Dark Sands.” But that’s not all: we’ll also see 12 new Hypercharges, gadget changes, and the ability to add Brawlers to favorites. After all, with so many fighters, it gets harder to pick your favorites, so now the ones you mark will appear at the beginning of the list.

Additionally, Friendly Battles have been updated — specifically, the lobby chat interface. You can now move quick message icons around.

A Quick Look at the New Brawlers:

• Finx — the master of time, capable of slowing down and speeding up projectiles on the battlefield.
• Lumi — a rock drummer from the “Nightmare Mansion” trio, capable of damaging enemies both when she throws and retrieves her drumsticks.

Both fighters of mythical rarity.

How Is the Star Player Determined?

We also want to share some educational information because many of you have asked in the comments how the Star Player is determined in Brawl Stars and on our server.

During a match, a wealth of data is collected about your actions: kills, deaths, damage dealt, goals scored, gems collected, and much more. All these indicators are summed up, and the system determines who becomes the Star Player.

Below is an approximate formula:

sum = (1000 * kills)
– (200 * deaths)
– (200 * gems_lost)
+ (3000 * ball_goals)
+ (0.1 * damage_0)
+ (0.2 * taking_ticks)
+ (0.5 * damage_1)
+ N

Definitions:

• kills — number of enemy Brawlers defeated.
• deaths — number of times the player died.
• gems_lost — number of gems lost (only gems are counted).
• ball_goals — number of goals scored in Brawl Ball.
• damage_0 — damage dealt to enemy Brawlers or the Siege IKE turret.
• damage_1 — damage dealt to the safe in Heist.
• taking_ticks — a parameter that increases every 50 ms by:
  • the number of gems or other items (excluding power cubes) the player holds,
  • +2 if the player is holding the ball,
  • +1 if the player is standing in a Hot Zone.
  • Upon death, 200 * (number of dropped items) is subtracted from taking_ticks.
