Arena Mode on Null’s (2025) — Almost Like a MOBA, But Faster!

This game mode was originally planned to launch right after our server update — but something didn’t go as expected.

In just a few days, the main server will introduce a brand-new mode called Arena, which partially resembles the MOBA genre — but with a twist. It’s designed for mobile, and while we know there are already plenty of MOBA-style mobile games out there, those matches tend to be much longer. What sets Arena in Brawl apart is its fast-paced action — the very thing we all love about the game.

Arena on Null’s

Creating Arena mode turned out to be a lot more complex than it might seem at first glance. Unlike modes like Brawl Ball or Bounty, where goals are clearly defined and maps are more linear, Arena demands far more flexibility and precise balance. We’ve already built some intense game modes — including huge maps in Showdown — but Arena presented new challenges.

The limited space of the Arena makes positioning critically important. We had to rethink respawn mechanics, healing, and area control to avoid situations where one team captures a point and dominates for the entire match.

The format added even more complexity — Arena is almost a MOBA, but with Brawl’s signature speed. To keep matches exciting and competitive, we developed a new battle progression system. Teams gain advantages throughout the match, rather than clashing head-on from the very start.

Since we’re building everything on our own custom battle logic, development took longer than expected. Still, Arena mode is coming very soon to Null’s Brawl.
